Winilistrae (NG female elf drd 12), Archdruid of the Tallwood; Gheralt Larethos (CG male elf rng 10), warden of the Tallwood; Ilexor (CN satyr rog 5), proprietor of the Gentle Bramble Tavern and Traveler’s Hostel.

Military Formations

None. However, about half of Aspenstar’s residents belong to character classes rather than non-player character classes, and they are all accustomed to obey the commands of both the Archdruid and Warden Larethos on the infrequent occasions when there’s a dangerous disturbance near the settlement. The citizens are more than capable of coming to one another’s aid in times of crisis.

1 adept (2nd-level); 25 commoners (1 9th-level 2 4th-level, 4 2nd-level, 18 1st-level); 14 druids (2 6th-level, 4 3rd-level, 8 1st-level); 3 experts (1 5th-level, 2 2nd-level); 14 rangers (2 5th-level, 4 2nd-level, 8 1st-level); 5 rogues (2 2nd-level, 3 1st-level); 1 shaman (1st-level); 2 warriors (2 1st-level).

The elves who live throughout the Tallwood maintain only one settlement, primarily as a gathering place for religious rituals and for emergency councils. Most of their leaders are dispersed, like the rest of the population, within the Tallwood when not in council or celebrating one of the elven religion’s seasonal festivals, so the majority of the town’s inhabitants are merchants, scholars, and the handful of innkeepers and servants who can find year-round employment here. A few rangers, druids, and other such individuals also congregate in and around Aspenstar, working under the direction of the aged and immensely revered archdruid Winilistrae. Unlike her more radical former pupil, Mintinarn Ceretheliaul of Woods End, Winilistrae bears no particular ill-will against humans, instead accepting their desire to log the forest as a sad fact of life, and preferring to encourage them to practice responsible forestry techniques instead of attempting in vain to halt their encroachment into the Tallwood. Since Ceretheliaul’s rise to power in Woods End and his subsequent attempts to enforce his policies, relations between Winilistrae’s followers and her pupil and his disciples have grown cooler, and are increasingly coming under strain as the radicals become more militant.
