Damn, dude. You basically survived the plague.
I hope you get to feeling more your usual self soon.

Michelle's grandfather has been quite ill for several months. He passed away early this morning. The funeral is on Monday and Michelle will be taking leave from work until Tuesday.
I've scrubbed my calendar for the next week. Still following email notifications but I can't make any promises about 2EE updates between now and then. I'll try my best.
My condolences to Michelle and Collin and rest of their family.
I'm sorry to hear that, Mike. I'm glad you're there for her.
I'm sorry for Michelle and Collin's loss.
Thanks, guys. It means a lot. Today is the funeral so I'll be AFK until tomorrow at the earliest.
Sorry to hear about that, Mike. I hope you're all doing better.
For everyone else, sorry about my absence. The school year started last week and while being somewhat busy, my drive to update had been pretty low. I think maybe I stretched myself a little too thin with games. But I should be good to go now. Sorry for any delays I caused.
Heading out of town for a belated birthday vacation. We'll be back Sunday. I'll have my phone with me though.
Just a heads up that next week beginning on Thursday, I have to contend with Graduation Weekend, which is the busiest weekend of the year for my industry in my city. Between Thursday evening and Sunday night, we have over 2000 people that have reservations to come eat at my establishment. For obvious reasons, I might be a little busy, and tired to the point of exhaustion when I get home. So, starting Thursday, please feel free to NPC any of my characters if there's even a suggestion that I might not respond in a timely manner.
I'm going to have a tonsillectomy on 5/15 (about 2 weeks from now). I don't know whether it'll impact my posting but figured I'd mention it now before I forget.
As indicated a couple of weeks ago, I'm having my tonsils removed tomorrow morning. I will be unlikely to check in again before surgery (and even less likely that someone will have a major update late tonight???) so if you find yourself waiting on me, please feel free to NPC me as necessary. I hope to be back sooner rather than later, but I've never done this before and I'm not sure how quickly I'll be back to my routine.
Thanks. So far, so good. I've gotten a lot of sleep today but pain is tolerable. It's supposed to be worst days 5-8. Apparently I'm supposed to tell the next people that give me general anesthesia that 'I'm a bear' because the moment I woke up, I wanted to get up. There is a period where I was awake that my wife walked in but I don't remember it all. My memory began sometime after waking up, which meant I basically 'reset' and made all the demands I had previously made again (pain medicine, be allowed to walk, ice chips, water).
I don't anticipate any significant changes to my posting schedule. But full recovery should probably take about 2 weeks.
I'm in Austin, TX all week and may not post regularly. If one of my characters needs to make a check, please don't wait on me, roll it for them. I'll try to get in regularly enough to post RP or combat, but NPC me if it's holding the game up.
Guys, I have a whole lot going on getting ready for the big move home as well as having my sister-in-law then some friends coming to visit. Please don't let me hold up any of the games; GMs, NPC me as necessary.
I am not sure when I will be back in a 100% capacity, but I will try to check in regularly until things even out.
No worries, but thanks for letting us know. I hope you're getting to enjoy the last of your time in Japan.
So I get a call today (well, yesterday now) that my brother called 911 on himself. Scans come back with brain aneurysm in that part of the brain that controls motor function. After a quick drive from Vegas I am sitting in the hospital room watching and waiting.
It may not be good.
So I am out for a bit gents. Don't know how long but my PbP is shelved for now. Tal, NPC Avar but try not to kill him off too. I plan on coming back.
I appreciate your understanding guys.
I'm sorry to hear about your brother. I lost a good friend in high-school to a brain aneurysm - she went from fine to deceased before anyone had a chance to do anything. The fact that your brother is getting medical care gives me great hope for his long-term prospects. I'm glad that you're able to be there for him and I am wishing him a speedy and complete recovery.
I'm so sorry about your brother, and I hope that he recovers well and quickly.
I promise I won't kill Avar on purpose.
I'm very sorry to hear this, BR. Please let me know if therre's any way I can help, even if it's just lending an ear.
Thank you everyone for the thoughts and well wishes.
It was a bit confusing at first but, in the end, my brother is stable (well, as stable as us Willcutt guys can be). He continues to have double vision, dizziness, and some paralysis in his neck/throat, but his strength and speech have returned to normal. Moving forward, he can opt for brain surgery or continue with periodic scans and hope for the best. My recommendation is to get the surgery but that is easy for me to say. I believe he is opting out of surgery but who knows.
There was some good news sent my way though. I applied for my old job back in California and received word that I have been accepted. So back home I go. Again. Unfortunately, that means the next few weeks are going to be busy for me trying to button things up here in Vegas and planning for the move. Back to late nights and seven day work weeks. I am sure we have all been there before.
So I will still be in and out on the forums sporadically. Probably not so much as to not be able to play Avar but my PbP will still be slow moving. For that, I apologize.
So, again, thank you guys for your kindness and your patience. We have never met but, if/when we do, the first couple of rounds is on ol' BR.
Glad to hear that your brother's recovering, and that you're getting back to a job that you evidently enjoyed. I'll give you a little extra leeway around Avar, since you're sort of here, but sort of not. If it looks like it'll cause a problem, I'll treat him as an NPC.
Hey, everyone. So, I moved to a new apartment this past week. I expected that I was going to be without internet service at home because Comcast is about as effective and pleasant as underwear made out of angry hornets. What I didn't expect was for my phone to take a dump on me and completely refuse to accept a charge. And during college graduation weekend, when I'm so busy with work that I can't possibly find an hour to break away and go handle things.
So I've been absent this past week. I'm sorry if that has caused any hangups or confusion in the PbP games. It wasn't intentional, just a perfect storm of bullshit hitting all at once. I've got a working phone now and the internet at my new home *should* be functional when I get home tonight.
All that said, I'm taking my first real (mini) vacation in 10 years. Starting on Wednesday, I'll be travelling to Seattle where I'll meet some friends and spend the day in the city. The next morning, we're taking a ferry to an island where I'll spend the next 4 days relaxing in a cabin. I'm just going to assume that wifi and cell service on said island will be non-existent. I'll be returning from this trip at fuckthato'clock in the morning on Monday.
Huh. I didn't know chefs were even allowed to use the word "vacation." Enjoy your trip.
We're not, as a general rule. I've never had more than 2 days off per week since I started this job. And I think the last time I spent any real time out of state was when you got married. One of these days, I'm just gonna park my car, walk into the woods and live as a hermit.
I don't believe it. Unless by 'vacation' you mean 'man orgy' and by 'friends' you mean 'discreet west coast lovers'. 'Relaxing' in a cabin for four days without cell service? I bet.
Have fun man.
In the middle of a move the next few days. Going back to California. Should be posting by Tuesday. Thank you for your patience.
Aaaaaaand I'm back. More relaxed, and with a fresh and renewed hatred for my job and those around me. Thank you, vacation time.
BR, so sad and then glad to hear your brother is recovering. Even more glad to hear we are going to be within kissing distance of one another now.
I am moved back and settling in in Cali right now. I will start slowly getting back into my games on here as soon as I am able. Love you guys.
What parts of California? Bakersfield for you, Jeff?
I am back into the Redlands/Loma Linda area. What they call the Inland Empire.
I grew up in Anaheim on the San Bernadino county border and many of my cousins/granparents/aunts/brother-in-laws and more live there.
Back in Bakersfield while we finish grad school, yeah.
So we're all aware, there's a pretty sizable storm that's expected to rape the phallic part of Florida. That's not where I live, but we're getting a lot of temporary refugees and whatnot. I'm not sure if the storm is going to have an effect on my posting here or not, but I'm bringing it up, just to cover bases.
If after the storm makes landfall on Sunday you decide you need to leave the state, you're welcome to my guest room in Knoxville TN. I offered it to Newby first for completely unrelated reasons, but I don't think he's going to take me up on it. I don't think either of you would mind sharing, anyway... :)
Not checking in or out, just dropping in to touch base. Originally it was my intention to update 2EE when Jeff got back stateside, then Harvey landed on Houston. Everyone I know is okay and so far as I am aware, so is the property I'm still responsible for there. Now a few of our players might be adversely affected by Irma in Florida for who knows how long, and this weekend one of our dogs took a turn (she's 12 and having seizures, and her heart is failing); not to mention Michelle's 88 year old great grandmother who broke her hip on Tuesday.
I'm working as fast as I can, though. Sorry for the delay.
I'm leaving town for a few days to head to a wedding in Milwaukee. There's a lot of driving involved. I expect to have internet where ever I go (at least with a mobile hotspot) so I don't expect any downtime, but if you're waiting for me in a game, please feel free to NPC me if I'm causing a delay.
I'll be away from noonish, 9/22/2017, through sometime late on the evening of 9/24/2017.
Also another upcoming trip from 10/5/2017 through 10/8/2017.
I won't be updating campaigns during these periods, and DMs who have me as a player should go ahead and treat me as an NPC in combat.
Hey, guys. I got the flu. Aside from regular trips to the bathroom, I haven't been out of my bed since Sunday. I *think* the worst of it is over now. Sorry if I've missed anything.
I will be traveling for holiday purposes from Friday evening through sometime late on Sunday. I don't know how active I will be able to be.
More holiday travel, this time somewhat unexpected. I will return on the evening of 12/26/2017. It's possible that I will be able to respond to posts in 2EE, but I don't anticipate being able to function as a DM.
I'm going to DC tomorrow. I'll be traveling Wednesday and Sunday and will be out of town on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I fully expect to have internet all the time and might have a chance to briefly post each day, but if I'm a player in your game and I'm holding things up, feel free to NPC me (or text me on LINE).
Noted. Also: Nice. Eat some Ethiopian food while you're there. For whatever reason, there's a lot of it in DC.
^^ This is true.
I'm heading out the door to go to a food vendor convention. I'll be away from hom until Wednesday. I'll have my laptop, so I imagine I'll still be able to check the forums, but since the alcohol is poured on us like a Vegas casino at these things, I can't promise I'll post anything that is of note. Or legible.
Flying to California tomorrow and I'll be out of town through Wednesday night. On Thursday my youngest is having a minor operation. Back to business as usual on February 2nd. I don't expect to be unable to post, but I'll probably be spotty based on being out and about.
Michelle's grandmother was just notified this evening that a kidney is available for her, and Michelle is her designated caretaker; so as we speak she's packing a bag and won't be home for a week or so. I'm taking a little bit of time off of work just to make sure I can dedicate all my attention to Collin or run any unexpected errands during times like this.
I don't know what my availability will be like but I will try to keep up with the games I'm participating in, including 2EE. Don't forget that PM, DDMW!
