It does not add its Dexterity bonus to AC, no.

This specific bothrian can't be sneak attacked because it's in a square that grants it concealment, which confers immunity to sneak attacks. If it were in the square immediately south of Henrik, then Kaarys would be able to sneak attack it because that square doesn't grant concealment to creatures in it.

Whether it then would be "super-easy" to sneak attack is a more complicated assessment, because it's dependent on the portion of the creature's total AC that is derived from its Dex bonus. For example, someone with Dex 12, wearing full plate and wielding a tower shield, might have a total AC of 23, just with mundane, non-masterwork examples of that gear. Only one point out of that total would be derived from Dexterity. Depriving such an armored foe of his Dex modifier to AC would open him up to sneak attacks, but that probably won't matter very much because it's still very difficult to attack him successfully.

As an additional example, consider a 5th-level monk who is optimized for grappling, with high Str, high Dex, and high Wis. His AC might easily be 17 or so, all of which would be applicable even against touch attacks. But virtually all of that is derived from sources that no longer apply if the monk is immobilized. His AC against attacks from outside of the grapple would be 10.

My comment about how concealment prevents sneak attacks from being effective also would have applied to Kaarys's attacks against White #4, if the concealment hadn't just negated his attacks altogether.

Sneak attacking really is pretty difficult.

We're running into a small problem with the Archive's PM system, folks. I'm going to be seeking a fix for it with all possible haste, but until and unless I get it repaired, it's something you should be aware of, and as a DM it's something I will need you to help me work around.

The gist of it is that the PM system currently allows only one-way communication. That is to say that you can send one to someone, and it works fine. If you reply, the conversation is immediately lost to both you and its originator.

This means that as of this moment, I do not have a copy of anyone's character sheet except for Darker's.

It would be of great assistance to me if you could please send me a fresh copy. If the only (current) copy of your sheet is in a PM to me, then please let me know about it; our only recourse may be to reroll the character.

This issue likely affects other DMs in our community, so I would also like to take this as a moment to encourage all of you to make sure that you have backup copies of any important data like character sheets, NPC notes, plot synopses, etc.

There's a decent chance that I won't be able to fix this; the Archive's been running on this software for quite awhile, now, and I have only just begun trying to diagnose the issue. Since I am traveling this weekend, I don't expect to make any major progress in trying to troubleshoot the problem until Monday. It's possible that this will turn out to be a simple fix . . . but I'm seriously considering the possibility that the database is corrupted. If so, then this may be an intractable, irremediable fault that can only be addressed by rebuilding the entire site from scratch.

PMs are fixed. The site was hacked and many of the files in the CMS software it runs on were modified for nefarious purposes. One of the affected files controlled the display of PM comments; I've removed the offending code snippets.

It was only quick because we have had a similar incident before, which I solved with more difficulty. This time around, my first instinct was to check to see if we'd been attacked in a similar way. We had, so this time I knew what needed to do and how to go about it as speedily as possible.

I won't need those sheets after all. Will pull copies myself, and take notes on key information so as not to be caught unprepared again. Other DM-type people on the site may want to take similar precautions.

Seeing as his flanking partner just went deeper into the undergrowth, and the mounted fighter withdrew, Kaarys doesn't want to be standing where he is anymore. Besides, he agrees that drawing them to the road is the best move. He's going to full attack number 4, then 5ft step up to the square beside Henrik. Looking at the map, he's going to change his dodge to number 1, 'cause 4 is prolly going to go after the druid.

It appears that White 3 is under Sally's marker in the map. Assuming that is correct...

Henrik looks at the approaching Bothrians and grips his axe tightly in his hand. He would have to involve himself in the general melee before long. But first, he had to do something to help Sally and Armund. He incants a prayer to summon a weapon of force to attack with Armund.

Attack Roll (BAB/Wis), Damage, Critical Roll, Critical Damage. Not including flanking if applicable, but I would like the weapon to appear in the most advantageous square.

It did miss, although it was a near thing. I probably should have waited for morning before I updated; I was sleepy and didn't treat those results with the care I should have.

I think at this point, we can just go ahead and pull away the curtain and say that these guys have a "naked" AC of 22, which is improved to 24 when they're in the same square as a normal tree, owing to the cover bonus it grants them. That makes them about as hard to hit as someone wearing a suit of mundane full plate and a tower shield.
