Synchronicity is the prime law of the universe.

M'bad. He's pretty obviously a human.

Updated the shaman class material linked in the first post of this thread, changing the duration and Hit Die requirements of the spirit pact. Instead of dominating spirits with Hit Dice equal to 2/3 of the shaman's level or less and charming those with more, the updated version dominates at 1/2 the shaman's level or less.

Duration for a domination pact is measured in hours equal to shaman_level/number_of_spirits.

Duration for a charm pact is measured in increments of 10 minutes equal to shaman_level/number_of_spirits.

These changes make it somewhat harder to dominate large numbers of highly mobile spirits and send them swarming off to scout, as a balance consideration versus specialized divination spells from the sorcerer/wizard list.

Makes sense. It did seem a little too useful.

Other than the duration thing, it won't actually change anything for Vexandi until he hits 3rd level. Under the previous version, he would then have become able to dominate 2-HD spirits. The new version retards that progression to 4th level. If he takes the Elemental Potentate feat, he'll be a 4th-level shaman for the purpose of starting a pact with spirits that have an elemental descriptor, which would mean that he could dominate 2-HD elementals.

Next level, he'll be able to dominate 1-HD spirits regardless of this change.

At higher levels, this change will make the assorted shaman feats a lot more attractive.
