Sorry to cause any delay. I'm going to send the PDFs of the books to work (can't download from there) so I can finish tomorrow. But I've got enough to handle anything outside of combat.

mruozu
mruozu's picture

Alrighty, just PM me all the information you have so far.

mruozu
mruozu's picture

Okie dokie, you have all now looked upon another member of the Inquisitor's crew, Kal'vek. Go about it as you would and then we can move along.

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

I say we shoot him in the face.

Uozu sent me a PM saying Fulrik can sense the Salamander is ACTUALLY an Alpha Legion infiltrator.

WHAT SAY YOU, BROTHERS?!

mruozu
mruozu's picture

...Fulrik speaks the truth.

KILL. MURDER. DEATH.

Nikello

I just imagines Bloodletters with pom-poms.

Dude, I just finished Fulgrim and this reminded me of the scene in "La Fenice" when Bequa Kensky reveals her final masterpiece, "Maraviglia." Damn, that shit escalated quickly.

Nikello

I'm not going to drag out my beef with the inquisitor any further until the mission is over. Then I'm going to bring it up with the Watch Captain.

mruozu
mruozu's picture

I imagine it does make you guys a BIT mad. <3

She is a bit of a firecracker anyway, should be fun seeing how this plays out...

Nikello
Nikello's picture

Wow, what a thundercunt. Apparently expecting to be told about extracting ANOTHER FUCKING DEATHWATCH KILL TEAM makes me self-important. My money is that she's incompetent and only is this far in whatever she is doing because she has powerful friends.

Maybe I should have saved the thumb-in-the-eye move for her.

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

I think you should.

So, is there a second fire team or is it just Bertram and Kel?

Are they all currently gathered? If so, how many other Astartes are present?

Nikello
Nikello's picture

What, drag out the beef? She clearly has it in her head that us wanting to have an idea of what the fuck we're doing here is asking too much. I wouldn't be surprised if she would call us in for extraction, and then tell us, "Hey, also there's a Warhound Titan you guys have to pick up, too, even though that would necessitate calling the Adeptus Mechanicus and getting a surface-to-orbit harness for it that you clearly don't have because I never told you about it. Apparently I can communicate my identity and position no problem, but the communication isn't secure enough for me to tell you about this great big thing I'm expecting you to haul for me!"

Seriously, it's like calling a cab company to pick you up, and then telling the cab company they were a bunch of douchebags for not sending enough cabs to pick up the whole marching band (that you didn't mention).

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

No, the eye gouge thing.

Quote:

This shit legitimately made me laugh my fucking asshole off. I no longer have an asshole. This will be problematic in the future, no doubt.

I just got confirmation from Uozu via text that there is not another Kill Team here, just the two newcomers Kel and Bertram. We should be good.

mruozu
mruozu's picture

Yeah there isn't another Kill Team. These are two Deathwatch brothers who were asked by the Ordo Xenos to accompany her. No other Kill Team is on the planet I can assure you. Only Bertram and Kal-vek.

She would pull something like that. It's just her style.

Nikello
Nikello's picture

Well, it certainly sounded like there was another team :P

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

Aztecs, am I right?

Speaking of which, Nik, how much time have you put into creating Chapter specific relics, weapons and/or armor? If you ever need any help, motivation or input, I would be up for it.

mruozu
mruozu's picture

You can't technically help anymore than you have. Once the wound has been treated once, it can't be looked at again until Mac gets bedrest in a medical facility. Even then it can only be looked at at the end of the week with an extended care test. So looks like right now, not much will change. I might be willing to heal 1 more of the critical damage since Mac will be taking rest, but only the 1 and if I feel nice. =D

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

If Fulrik gave Mac a back rub, would that be worth an extra 1 HP?

mruozu
mruozu's picture

That would be worth a half-chub from Fulrik and that is all.

They have their fair share of relics (each harness of power armor is actually a relic from the Chapter's founding, of which only about 3 in 4 survive, same goes for their weapons). Most of their particular relics are safely kept in shrines on the homeworld, and they wouldn't dare think to give their most precious weapons to any other organization.

However, they are strong animists, and despite the oaths of silence and hypnoconditioning, records of their deeds leak back to the Chapter. The Deathwatch has tolerated this because the Eagle Knight's system of recordkeeping is singularly uncommunicative: "On This Day XXXXXXXX White-Reed and Eagle Claw (the weapon) Defeated Smoking-Staff." The glyphic writing system has many limitations, and none of the details important to the Eagle Knights (communicated by nuanced artistic choices with the image glyphs chosen for syllables) could be used to communicate geographical location, what the plan was or how the battle played out, any other players who were important to the story, etc. It also wouldn't help anyone that the Eagle Knights name everything differently. Basically the exploits of EK marines in the Deathwatch leak back to the Chapter, but none of what they communicate could be construed as sensitive information by anyone who knows what it's actually saying.

Why is that relevant? Well, a weapon used by an Eagle Knight in the Deathwatch may accrue its own reputation with the Chapter, and reacquiring it for the use of other EK Deathwatch Agents would be something that the Ek would strive for.

Basically our Deathwatch-accessible relics will have to be MADE by playing the game and doing something badass with them.

Of course. Mac isn't getting a half-chub. That is correct. Only Fulrik. Not Mac.
mruozu
mruozu's picture

Greeth finds out that death occurred only a few hours prior to dawn. From the look of the wounds, some type of poison was applied to the weapon, something that inhibits the clotting effect of the blood and creates massive damage to the internal structure of the Astartes before him. It appears as though the Blood Raven put up quite a fight despite the poison, but was bested with the final blow to the head.

The poison is unknown to Greeth.

Nikello
Nikello's picture

Check if the wounds would be inflicted by someone with Sammael's height. We can't be jumping to conclusions too quickly.

I'm going to make my own investigation of the scene, too. Would that include Awareness? I'm not just going to be looking for evidence of xenos or traiter action, but also evidence of psychic phenomena.

I rolled 1d100, the result is 33 = 33.
I rolled 1d100, the result is 80 = 80.
drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

Mac is about to literally be beaten to death by Fulrik. He better check that shit!

Nikello
Nikello's picture

If you're wondering why Mac didn't immediately get up and investigate, it's because he doesn't trust the Inquisitor or anyone in their retinue, and he didn't want to get them involved until they could be ruled out as suspects. Fulrik's (completely understandable) anguish as caused a scene that Mac can't keep the Inq from.

She has a force sword. She's a psyker. She could have done something to Sammael. Anything is possible at this point.

Nikello
Nikello's picture

*whisper* Quiet, I don't have either of those.

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

scrutiny isnt advanced right? Cant it be tested at half?

Nikello
Nikello's picture

Shhh, if mrouzo doesn't know, he might test me at baseline perception.

Seriously, keep it down. He won't be able to hear you unless you post loudly.

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

I am posting quiet as fuck.

mruozu
mruozu's picture

SCRUTINY!

Nah I'll be nice, a general awareness test might be sufficient. According to your rolls, here is what you learn.

An Astartes definitely killed Darius. Due to the angle of the weapon and the power behind it, this has to be so. You all know how an Astartes wounds and this is typical of that.

As for the other awareness, nothing else is seen as of right now.

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

awareness from Fulrik once his psychotic episode ends and he is calm enough to figure shit out.

Per <55; Wolf Senses - looking for leads, hints, anything left behind, direction to follow. Fun fact, Fulrik knows Sam's scent VERY well. So he would be sniffing for that.

Awareness
I rolled 1d100, the result is 82 = 82.
Re-roll "Wolf Senses"
I rolled 1d100, the result is 12 = 12.
mruozu
mruozu's picture

You notice that Sam's scent leads out of the room and out one of the side exits to the building at the far end of the hallway.

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

Well, not sure if that was the smartest thing for the Inquisitor to do given the current state of things.

Fulrik is going to fly into a rage and attempt to grapple her and pin her ass up against a wall for what he consideres - literally - the worst insult that could be thrown at his honor brother.

If the other Marines want to interject, now would be the time. Here is what I suggest - All Marines roll initiative, and if any of the team I am loyal to (basically just Mac or Greeth) beat my Initiative score, they have an opportunity to intercept Fulrik.

If not, I will roll for grapple as normal. The plan isnt necessarily to hurt the Inquisitor, but to show her the folly of insulting a Space Wolf's brother with zero hard evidence, when it is possible he could still definitely have been taken. A lesson in humility if nothing else.

:-D

Init.
I rolled 1d10+4, the result is 6, 4 = 10.
mruozu
mruozu's picture

Haha which I fully expected from Fulrik. Mac and Greeth won't probably post until later on today, but I won't make decisions for them since I don't know if they would try and stop you. So we shall wait and see. Everyone can indeed roll initiative, but yes Mac and Greeth would be the only ones close enough to intercept. Kal-vek and Bertram are close, but behind Mac and Greeth at least in my mind.

Should be fun to see what happens!

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

If it will speed things up we can simply roleplay it out without needing to roll any checks.

Fulrik isn't going to kill her or anything, but he is going to give her a public relations lesson on Space Wolves and their silly tempers/honor and all that.

mruozu
mruozu's picture

Yeah we could always do that. Let's give them a bit of time, let's say an hour or so and if nothing happens, then we will move forward. Like to give them at least a chance to do something if they wish to.

Nikello
Nikello's picture

DAMMIT I DIDN'T WANT IT TO ESCALATE

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

DOG. SHE CALLED FULRIK'S HONOR-BRO ALPHA LEGION.

He wasn't going to just be like, "well, you are probably right girl, come here you big tittied bitch and gimme some suga wit dat ass."

Nikello
Nikello's picture

just sent you a vox message.

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

Haha, I got it. Whoops.

Mac is a fuckin' homeboy. Did he try and stop Fulrik in his rage? No. He just made sure to eliminate Bertram from the situation.

This reminds me of the scene in Anchorman when Ron Burgundy was beating the shit out of Veronica Corningstone and Champ was like, "It's all right people, let them work it out."

Nikello
Nikello's picture

Sent a clarifying pm as well.

Also you know Mac has Fulrik's back.

drumandfight

The Eagle and the Wolf. We are the only animals left now that the Raptor is MIA - well, the only original animals.

Like the Power Rangers before Tommy came along with his fucking cool-guy ponytail. Green ranger? White ranger? Figure it the fuck out, Thomas.

Nikello
Nikello's picture

Fucking Tommy and his early-90s, white-guy karate-ponytail. Are you fucking Godzilla or a tiger? Tommy, get your shit together.

You're the reason Jason went into gay porn.

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

Is that true?! Haha I remember hearing that and thinking it had to be a rumor in order to protect my psyche from destroying my childhood and/or making me love it more.

I just... I just don't understand why the fuck Rita Repulsa was voice dubbed? Was she speaking Tagalog or something? WHY WAS SHE VOICE DUBBED?

Edit (I found it): - Because apparently she was speaking JAPANESE.

"In the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Japanese actress Machiko Soga played the role of Rita via stock footage from the original Japanese Super Sentai show, Zyuranger, and also reportedly filmed a few original scenes as Rita. Carla Perez took over from Season 2 through 6. Julia Cortez, an actress from Sydney, Australia, portrayed Rita Repulsa in Power Rangers: The Movie. Barbara Goodson provided her voice in all of Rita's appearances through 1998, including both movies. In 2006, the character returned as the Mystic Mother for the end of Mystic Force, played by Soga once more, and dubbed over in English by New Zealander Susan Brady. The footage this time was taken from Magiranger, where Soga's character was unrelated to her Zyuranger character. The writers allegedly decided to connect the two characters as a tribute to Soga, who passed away while Mystic Force was in production. Soga also dubbed in Rita's voice when Power Rangers came to be aired in Japan. "

Nikello
Nikello's picture

Yeah he did some gay porn. I think he was also juicing, because I've seen some of it and it was that kind of muscle porno where it's ripped dudes in jockstraps. But no, I don't think Tommy was the reason.

She was speaking Japanese, because originally they were dubbing over Japanese footage. When they realized that a lot of people loved her being dubbed because bad dubbing = hilarity, they had the american actress dub her own lines.

Nikello
Nikello's picture

Okay a bunch of that is news to me.

drumandfight
drumandfight's picture

You know what is news to me? You watching ripped dude-on-dude gay porn. But I am not judging you. If anything, it makes Mac and Fulrik closer Battle Brothers.

... Spartan style.
