Pichu Tah is sometimes thought of by outsiders as a nation of barbarians trying to be civilized.  Even someone from Pichu Tah will admit to barbarism without an ounce of shame.  Despite the feudal monarchy that governs the nation, qualities like strength and a reputation as a great warrior are valued above all else.  Despite this, Pichu Tah has been extremely reluctant to participate in the wars of other nations.  While no small number of her people have certainly hired themselves out, the nation has maintained neutrality for centuries.  The people of Pichu Tah get enough battle within their own borders while repelling monsters from the Savage Lands or other nations with designs on taking some of her land.

The government of Pichu Tah is quite unique.  It is a feudal system that incorporates several dozen potential ranks, from the common laborer to the Divine Monarch.  A person’s rank dictates how much land he controls, and he is ultimately responsible for collecting taxes and maintaining order within his own lands.  To that end, a person has complete authority within the lands he controls and may employ any tactic he sees fit.  This system has had minor issues in the past, as someone has abused his authority enough to catch the attention of his superiors.  However, this has been rare.  With the sole exception of the Divine Monarch, everyone in Pichu Tah is answerable to a higher authority, and most take steps to ensure that they do not bring his wrath down upon their own heads.
