Grimvaalk gives Gorx a sour expression, "Yes, heal us. Might as well make sure your kin are healthy. After your last performance, that kinship all that is keeping a dagger out of your your back. Can't say the same for the others."
Yonah presents himself to be patched up, remarking to Grimvaalk, "This is far from the worst experience I've had on a job." He grimaces. "Worked with a halfling once who inexplicably stole from our employer." The bug bear scratches the back of his neck and elaborates, "They don't wear shoes, halflings. But that one is now a pair of shoes. How he squealed!"
Gorx bares his teeth in a terrible semblance of a grin, and casts his last remaining cure minor wounds orison on Yonah, pressing the bugbear, "Tell me more about the squealing and the halfling shoes."

Yonah gives the little goblin a funny look and says, "He was flayed alive, and our employer turned his hide into laced boots with hobnails on the bottom." Picking at a bit of dirt in his fingernails, he observes, "Harsh, but it sent a clear message when he flayed one halfling and not our whole company."
"The pinkskins are every bit as depraved as I've always believed, then," concludes Gorx, looking pleased. To nobody in particular, he observes, "We still have a little time before the eagles return to us. Can we even ford this stream here? It sounds like the water is flowing quickly."
There's a twinkle in Yonah's eye as he remarks, "Gmork, a pinky? He would find that amusing...at first." He steps to the creek bed and dips the butt of his javelin in to get a sense of the current.
"Our animals are hauling a lot of weight, and some of you... well. You are quite small," Oni offers apologetically.
Yonah can just barely reach the bottom of the stream with his javelin if he kneels down, keeps a firm grip on the extreme end of the handle, and probes with the head of the weapon. He guesses that it would be about chest-deep on him. A goblin certainly would have to swim, and swim well, because the current is strong and the water is uncomfortably cold. He thinks it'd be better to look for a safe place to ford.
Yonah furrows his brows for a brief moment, then reports to his fellows, "Not a good place to cross, unless you want to drown. Let's keep moving."
"I think it prudent to let Gorx's scouts return before we keep progressing", Fanax offers eyes scanning the sky's.
"The mounts and my legs can use this break."
As late in the day as it is, Fanax and Grimvaalk realize, the birds aren't really likely to catch back up to you until sometime shortly before the sun goes down. Even if you find a safe crossing, fording this little river will leave you wet and cold just as night falls.
Both goblins are competent outdoorsmen, and both realize that unless Gorx's eagles come back with news of some imminent threat that can be avoided by crossing the river immediately, it's probably safer for everyone if you leave it for tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Cha'nek is taking a rapturous dump over near a clump of tumbleweed.
Yellow squares represent light undergrowth. A space covered with light undergrowth costs 2 squares of movement to move into, and it provides concealment. Undergrowth increases the DC of Tumble and Move Silently checks by 2 because the leaves and branches get in the way.
Green squares represent heavy undergrowth. Heavy undergrowth costs 4 squares of movement to move into, and it provides concealment with a 30% miss chance (instead of the usual 20%). It increases the DC of Tumble and Move Silently checks by 5. Heavy undergrowth is easy to hide in, granting a +5 circumstance bonus on Hide checks. Running and charging are impossible. Squares with undergrowth are often clustered together. Undergrowth and trees aren’t mutually exclusive; it’s common for a 5-foot square to have both a tree and undergrowth.
Blue squares represent water, at least 1 foot deep (and possibly deeper). The current moves northward at 30 feet/round, making it rough water. A Swim check (DC 15) is necessary to move through squares with rough water that are too deep for a character to wade through. A character swimming through deep water is carried along by the current regardless of success or failure, but can spend some or all of his movement from a successful Swim check to counteract the current.
