Personality:
In life Vanlieous Ketar was a diplomat. He traveled from place to place as he was needed and mitigated everything from tribal uprisings to border disputes between great and powerful nations. Through his skill, many battles and even full-scale wars were avoided. He was insanely proud of his accomplishments, and it was pride that eventually brought him low. While trying to turn away a rampaging army through diplomacy, Vanlieous was killed by its vampire leader. It amused the general to leave Vanlieous behind to rise as a vampire.
Since becoming a vampire roughly forty years ago, Vanlieous’s outlook and personality has changed dramatically. He is still cordial and polite, but there is a hard, bitter streak to him as well. He is repulsed and disgusted by what he has become, but his hunger drives him to slake his thirst regardless. He hopes one day to find a cure for his affliction, and uses the library’s resources to research his condition every chance he gets. Although he is sorrowful over his condition and genuinely repentant for each life he has taken, Vanlieous will kill anyone who gets between him and a cure. Until then, he hides his condition from everyone, and thus far, no one has seen through his disguise.
Teaching Style:
Vanlieous Ketar is an extremely good instructor. He is courteous and patient with his students. Some are put off by the fact that he never shows any interest in getting to know them, but in truth, this is because he’s afraid that he will one day end up killing one of them, and he keeps his distance to avoid dealing with the pain of killing someone he really liked. This is why he refuses to teach children as well, though he only works during the evening hours anyhow, which generally makes it a non-issue. |
